Larissa Murmann departs Unilever International to lead Global Commercial People function at Werfen

Murmann will focus on building a culture of innovation, performance, and sustainable growth, enabling leaders and teams to translate new ways of working into measurable, customer-centric outcomes.
Larissa Murmann, who recently served as Digital Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of Unilever International, has stepped down from the role and joined Werfen to lead its global commercial people function.
According to a LinkedIn post shared by Murmann, she has taken on the role of Vice President – Global Commercial People Function at Werfen, effective January 2026.
In her new role, Murmann will focus on building a culture that drives innovation, performance, and sustainable growth. Her mandate includes enabling leaders and teams to experiment with new ways of working, translate ideas into measurable value, and deliver differentiated, customer-centric outcomes.
She will serve as a trusted advisor to senior commercial leaders, aligning people, talent, and organisational strategy with Werfen’s long-term commercial ambitions. This includes overseeing global succession planning, leadership and capability development, workforce planning, and operating model evolution across regions.
Murmann will also work closely with regional and global people teams to co-create and embed scalable, future-ready people processes across the employee lifecycle. A key part of her role involves supporting the commercial organisation in building digital capabilities and mindsets, including leading the people and change aspects of the transition to a new CRM system.
Positioned at the intersection of strategy, culture, and execution, Murmann said her role will draw on external market insights and leading practices to ensure the organisation has the talent and capabilities needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving environment.
Murmann recently appeared on the People Matters Unplugged podcast, where she shared insights on responsible AI adoption in HR, workforce transformation, and preparing organisations for a future of human–machine collaboration, drawing on her 15-year tenure at Unilever.
Academically, she holds a Master’s degree in International Cultural and Business Studies from Universität Passau. She has also completed the Chief Data, Analytics and AI Officer Programme at the National University of Singapore, AI Implications and Business Strategy at MIT Sloan, along with Agile Coaching and CIPD certifications in Design and Development.
